| ENDANGERED SPECIES CLUE (Grades 7-12) This after-dark activity involves small teams of students with adults who attempt to locate hidden clue cards, which will provide information that will determine "who, how, where" regarding the death of the Great Plumed Heron. 1 activity period (1 to 1 1/2 hours) Grades 7-12 Only |
| NIGHT SENSE (Grades K-12) When darkness falls, children and adults alike usually find themselves indoors, and the night, experiences are limited. This unfamiliarity with darkness brings with it fear and lack of understanding of God's purpose for the night. Participants will share in group sensory activities which will spark their curiosity, calm their fears and give them an understanding and an appreciation for the night. A campfire will follow with a celebration of the night complete with s'mores. 1 activity period (1 1/2 hours) plus campfire* *Allow 30 minutes for campfire, s'mores and storytelling. |
| SILENT STALKING (Grades 5-12) Many predators must stalk their prey to get close enough to strike without warning, and the prey must move cautiously and silently to avoid being detected by the predator. Participants will practice relying on a good sense of hearing, silent stalking skills and the ability to pinpoint the direction from which sounds come in this exciting predator and prey survival game. 1 activity period (1 1/2 hours) |
