  A ROCK IS A ROCK  (K-12)

    The earth is made up of many different kinds of rocks, making it impossible to go through a day without seeing them. Participants will become geologists as they dig up, collect , identify and classify various rocks from those located throughout our property and in our rock quarry. Graphing, sorting and observations of signs of wear will be among the activities used in this class.

 

 
     

 

 

 

 

 

     
  MYSTERY MINERALS  (Grades 5-12)

  Participants will experience the process that geologists go through in digging up and observing various minerals and their properties, which will then enable them to identify common minerals and their contributions to our everyday lives through an on-site scavenger hunt.

 

 
     

 

 

 

 

 

     
  WEATHER WONDERS (Grades 3-12)

  Through a variety of hands-on experiments and creative activities, participants will explore the connections between the sun, earth, air and water, while using critical thinking skills to understand the water cycle, air pressure lighting and seasons.
